Google was well-known for its Nexus smartphones and they used to be the most powerful ones back then. Fast forward to the last few years, Google started its own set of devices. the Pixel line-up. These phones are just as powerful as its predecessors, but still, the Google Pixels could not crack the Indian market.

But all that is in the past. Yesterday Google announced its next-in-line Pixel device, the Google Pixel 4a. Let us see how this device looks on paper and whether it translates well in the Indian market.

The Pixel 4a comes with a nice compact 5.8 inch OLED display with a punch-hole camera in the front. The rear camera bump consists of a camera sensor and a flash which gives the look of a dual-camera setup.

At the bottom of the phone on the rear, you get to see the signature Google branding. Also, on the sides, you see clickety power and volume buttons along with a sim tray on another side. Also, you get a 3.5 mm jack at the top, USB type C port in the bottom and mono-stereo grill.

With respect to design, the Pixel 4a might sound like just another device and we totally understand. Although, it is still a decent looking smartphone. The camera bump looks great at the back.

The Pixel devices are known for its camera performance but the overall performance sometimes suffers. The Pixel 4a is no different. It comes with a decent Snapdragon 730G chipset. You get the Adreno 618 GPU which is known for delivering good gaming performance. You can play basic games but the hardcore gaming fans might be disappointed with it.

However, the Snapdragon 730G can take up almost everything you throw at it. It is offered by Samsung in M51 and OnePlus Nord comes with Snapdragon 765G which is one generation ahead. Technically, not one generation apart as the 750G was recently launched by Snapdragon.

Coming to the USP of Pixel smartphones, the camera. The way Google has fine-tuned a 12 MP camera to match the performance of a 48 or 64 MP camera is just commendable. You get one single rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The camera is great for still photography. So, if you are a food blogger or someone who loves to capture sceneries, this is the one for you.

Not only that, there are other exceptional features like night sight and Astrophotography that totally wins the game for Pixel 4a. The 8 MP front camera is also great.

In the storage area, Pixel 4a has one single storage variant of 128 GB storage. It does not come with expandable storage and if you are a photo buff, you might find the space a little small. So check out some other stuff about it.

In case you were keen to know the Google Pixel 4a price in India, here you have it. Google has finally realized the potential of the Indian market.
