Samsung is one of the smartphone manufacturers that has focussed a lot on the flagship devices. However, they have tried their hands in mid-range smartphones too, but could not achieve success.

There was a time when Samsung got into the mid-range smartphone market with its most popular smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Grand. The phone did well on the charts, but could not make it count as a value for money offering.

Coming back to the present year, Samsung tried its hands again at the mid-ranger but this time, it managed to make it count. Be it the Samsung A series or the Samsung M series.

Samsung launched the Galaxy M51 last week and the fans can’t keep calm. The phone made an amazing marketing campaign with a rather cute monster, the Mo-B.

So, without any further ado, let us understand if the Samsung Galaxy M51 is really a monster like the giant suggests or it is yet another hype.

We will keep our opinions as short and to the point as possible, so keep up with the pace. Let us get started:

Samsung Galaxy M51 sports a huge 6.7 inches, full AMOLED+ display with an FHD+ resolution. A punch-hole front camera and quad-camera setup at the back. It has a power button on the right and the fingerprint sensor is mounted on it. You get a rarely seen 3.5 mm headphone jack and a glasstic body. Glasstic is just a mirror-like material made from plastic to give you a glass shine on the back.

Samsung Galaxy M51 – Design

Overall, the design looks good but if you are someone who is not a fan of the mounted fingerprint sensor, this phone is probably not for you.

The camera is the department where Samsung always tries to bring something new, be it the flagship or a mid-ranger. You might be aware of the single-take feature which lets you click one pic with 10 different variations. And, it is absolutely great. On the numbers side, you get a 64 MP primary camera with Sony IMX682 sensor, 12 MP ultra-wide camera and 5 MP macro and depth sensors. Also, you get a punch-hole front camera which is a 32 MP sensor.

Again, you get a decent specification and a capable camera sensor.

At the price point of 25000 and 28000 INR, the phone seems to be a bit overpriced. The Galaxy M51 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC and a 128 GB storage. It also has OneUI which is Samsung’s signature OS.

Samsung Galaxy M51 – Performance

Notable Mention

Galaxy M51 has a whooping 7000 mAh battery which is the highest yet in the price range and in the industry as a whole. No other smartphone can come as close as the Galaxy M51 when compared to its battery.

Also, a 20W fast charger is supplied to take care of the charging needs. Although it is still going to take enough time to charge the smartphone from 0 to 100, we thought the charger could have been more powerful. Nevertheless, you also get an amazing reverse charging feature that can help you charge other smartphones through a USB-C to USB-C cable, out-of-the-box.

The phone is a great buy at the asking price since it offers a lot in terms of performance, battery, design and camera. You can check out the OnePlus Nord which is at a similar price range. We will do a detailed comparison post to help you figure out who is the clear winner.
