Here is our first impression of the OnePlus 9RT 5G smartphone. The phone looks quite tough on paper, and only the real-world performance and use cases can give you an accurate review of the smartphone. We had used the OnePlus 9R for a while, and believe us, the phone is powerful and a performance-friendly smartphone to own.
Display
The smartphone has an AMOLED display of 6.62 inches with an FHD plus resolution. The OnePlus 9RT 5G display has a 20:9 aspect ratio, 396 PPI pixel density, and 120Hz refresh rate. So, you are in for a treat if you love watching web series, movies and stuff on OTT platforms. Not only that, the AMOLED panel is known to be one of the best, especially with its viewing angles in the bright sunlight.
The corning gorilla glass protection makes sure that the phone survives minor falls and does not break the screen.
Cameras
This one sports a triple rear camera setup with solid specs on paper. It sports a 50 MP primary camera, 16 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2 MP macro camera. We feel that the 2 MP macro camera seems to be a gimmick, and at the price that it is launched at, we are not sure if the gimmick was needed.
Space Cooling Technology
Heating issues have been prominent in almost every phone over the last few years while playing games or charging. OnePlus 9RT 5G seems to understand this problem, and they have come up with space cooling technology.
Battery and Charging
The model has a 4500mAh powerful battery which is non-removable.

Connectivity
The smartphone has 4G LTE, 5G, Bluetooth V5.2 connectivity, NFC support, Wi-Fi 6, and GPS/A-GPS.
Size and Weight
The size of this smartphone measures around 183mm and 198.5 grams in weight.
Sleek Design
The smartphone looks sleek; both the colors are quite attractive. This model is quite handy as it has an 8.3mm thickness and a weight of around 198gms.
The metal frame of this smartphone is durable; also, you will see an alert slider in this model, which is the OnePlus staple feature.
Price and Availability
The OnePlus 9RT 5G smartphone was launched in 2 storage variants. Let’s have a look at the OnePlus 9RT price in India.
The phone comes in a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant priced at INR 42,999, whereas the 12GB and 256GB RAM storage model was priced at INR 47,999.
The smartphone is available in 2 colours, i.e., Hacker Black and Nano Silver.
Upgrades over OnePlus 9R
The OnePlus 9RT is the successor to the previous model OnePlus 9R. This latest model comes with advanced hardware with a slight difference in design. This model is powerful, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC.
The OnePlus 9RT has a triple camera setup and a primary camera of 50MP Sony IM766 with OSI and EIS support, the wide-angle lens of 16MP, 16MP selfie camera, and 2MP macro lens.
But, the OnePlus 9R has a setup of a 48MP quad-camera, a 2MP monochrome camera which is not present in the OnePlus 9RT.
Wrap Up
At first look, this phone looks like a solid upgrade over its predecessor, but it all depends on what you want. We don’t feel a sky-high difference between them: an excellent chipset, great cameras and an amazing screen.
What do you think? Is the OnePlus 9RT a perfect pick, or should you stick to the predecessor? The decision is yours, but if you are open, do let us know more in the comments below!
